Effective date: 2 October 2026 (version 1.1)
TalkSticker ("the app") turns short voice clips into videos and stickers of cartoon characters talking. This policy explains what happens to your information.
The app records audio only while you hold the record button. Silence trimming, voice effects (such as Female, Robot or speed changes) and lip-sync all run on your device. Your recordings are not sent over the internet. Clips you save stay in the app's private storage on your phone until you delete them.
If you make a character from a selfie or a pet photo, the photo is processed only on your device. Face and mouth positions are found with Google ML Kit's on-device face detection. The cropped photo and mouth position are stored in the app's private storage on your phone. They are never uploaded, and you can delete a photo character at any time. Before you pick a photo, the app asks you to confirm that it shows you or your pet, or that you have permission to use it.
If you share a friend's video into TalkSticker to reply to it, the app copies it into its private storage on your phone so it can make your reply video. It is not uploaded to us.
When you tap Share, the app creates a video file on your phone and hands it to the app you choose, such as a messaging app. When you add your sticker pack to WhatsApp, WhatsApp reads your sticker images from the app. What happens after that is governed by that app's privacy policy.
If Settings > Privacy > "Share usage and crash reports" is on (the default), the app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect:
This never includes your voice, photos, captions or the names you give characters. It is processed by Google on our behalf under Firebase's privacy terms. You can turn it off at any time in Settings. To ask us to delete data collected from your device, email the contact address below.
If you type a line instead of speaking, your phone's own text-to-speech engine (for example Speech Services by Google) turns it into audio on your device. The app does not send the text to us.
Payments are processed by Google Play under Google Payments' privacy notice. The app only receives confirmation from Google Play of what you bought, so it can unlock it, and stores that on your phone. If usage statistics are on, Firebase Analytics also records that a purchase happened and its value, so we can see which products people like. We never receive your payment details.
To give you and your friends free unlocks, the app signs in to Google Firebase with an anonymous, randomly generated ID. That ID is added to the links you share. When a friend installs TalkSticker from your link, their app stores one record in Google Cloud Firestore containing only their random ID, your random ID and the time. Your app then counts how many friends joined. No names, phone numbers, contacts or messages are collected. This works even if usage statistics are off, because it is needed for the invite feature. To have these records deleted, email us with the invite code shown in your shared links, or uninstall the app (the random ID is then no longer used).
If you switch on the daily reminder, the app schedules a notification on your phone. It is created on the device; nothing is sent to us.
Links in shared videos point to the app's Google Play page and include which character was used and, if available, your invite ID. When the app is installed from such a link, Google Play's Install Referrer tells the app that link's details, so the app can open on the same character. If usage statistics are on, the source is also counted in aggregate.
The app is not directed at children under 13. Please don't make photo characters of children.
If we change what the app collects, we will update this policy and the app's Google Play data safety section before that version is released.
