Roast Battle Privacy Policy

Roast Battle ("the app") lets friends roast each other and has an AI judge pick the winner. This policy explains what the app does with your information.

Summary

• No account or sign-up. The app uses a random anonymous ID.
• To judge battles, your roasts (text, and your voice recording when you speak a roast) are sent to Google's Gemini AI through Firebase.
• Challenges you send to friends are stored in our database so your friend can answer them.
• No ads. We don't sell your data.

Your roasts and voice

When you record a roast, the app records audio only while recording is on. The recording is sent to Google's Gemini API (through Firebase AI Logic) to be turned into text, then deleted from your phone. The text of your roasts is sent to Gemini to be judged. Google processes this data on our behalf under the Firebase data processing terms and the Gemini API terms. We don't store your voice recordings.

Challenges

When you challenge a friend, we store in Google Cloud Firestore: the challenge code, your display name, your friend's display name (if you typed one), the roasts, the battle language, the AI's verdict, timestamps and both players' random anonymous IDs. Anyone with the challenge link or code can see that battle. Don't put real full names, phone numbers or other personal details in names or roasts.

Pass-the-phone and Roast-the-AI battles are kept only on your phone (their roasts are still sent to Gemini to be judged).

Reports and blocking

If you report a roast or something the AI said, we store the battle code, the reason, the reported text, the time and the anonymous IDs involved, so we can review it and remove content that breaks the rules. Blocking is stored only on your phone.

Usage statistics and crash reports

If "Share usage and crash reports" is on in Settings (the default), Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics collect app interactions (such as which mode or language was used), crash logs, device model and version, and an app-instance ID. They never include your roasts, voice or names. You can turn this off at any time.

App security

Firebase App Check uses Google Play Integrity to confirm requests come from the genuine app.

Retention and deletion

Challenges are kept so both players can see the result. To have your challenges deleted, email us with the challenge codes (shown in the app). We delete reported content that breaks the rules.

The app is for people aged 16 and over.
