VoiceJot is designed to be private by default.
What we collect
Nothing. VoiceJot has no account, no sign-in, and no analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information.
Your notes
Your notes are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. They never leave your phone and are not backed up to any VoiceJot server (there is no VoiceJot server). Uninstalling the app removes them.
Microphone
VoiceJot requests the microphone permission only to turn your speech into text when you tap the mic button. Speech-to-text is performed by your device's built-in speech recognition service. VoiceJot does not record, store, or transmit audio itself.
Depending on your device and settings, the system speech-recognition service (for example, Google's) may process the audio to produce the transcription. That processing is governed by your device/OS provider's privacy policy, not VoiceJot's. VoiceJot prefers on-device recognition where your device supports it, and only ever receives the resulting text, only while you are actively using the mic.
Permissions
- Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): used solely for voice-to-text, only while you hold a voice-note session. Never used in the background.
Children
VoiceJot does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
